The transaction demonstrates how tokenization, AI-driven verification, and blockchain infrastructure can enhance transparency, control, and liquidity access in institutional trade finance. A global leader in premium steel and advanced materials, POSCO INTERNATIONAL AMERICA CORP. partnered with Olea and Intain to explore digital solutions for trade and treasury management.
As part of the transaction, trade receivables were converted into tokenized digital assets and recorded on-chain, creating a transparent and auditable record of ownership and asset status. Intain’s platform reconciled data across invoices, purchase orders, credit notes, and shipment documents before assets were verified and registered on-chain. The process was integrated into existing trade finance workflows while maintaining institutional credit and compliance standards. The transaction was executed on Intain’s Layer 1 network on the Avalanche blockchain.
For multinational corporations, the solution offers improved visibility over financing programs, stronger operational controls, reduced reconciliation complexity, and enhanced access to scalable liquidity..
“This transaction marks an important step from proof-of-concept to real-world adoption,” said Amelia Ng, CEO of Olea. “We are proud to help global enterprises bridge traditional supply chains with digital financial infrastructure and unlock new efficiencies in trade and treasury management.”
“AI helped establish the truth of the asset; blockchain preserved that truth and connected it to financing,” said Siddhartha, Founder and CEO of Intain. “Leaning on Olea’s expertise in supply chain solutions, we established this for one asset class, but see this as a model for institutional asset-backed finance across asset classes. Tokenize the asset first, then the financing.”
The parties intend to explore further opportunities in tokenized trade finance, digital treasury solutions, and stablecoin-enabled cross-border settlements to assess their applicability to real-world transactions.
